RV Repair: duo therm air conditioner, duo therm air conditioner, amp fuse

Question
Lighting struck roughly 20' from our Nomad trailer, had a power surge and AC stopped working.  Pulled off the power box panel 3 amp fuse was blown, replaced.  Turned on thermostat and turned temp up and down, can hear relay click but the AC doesn't work.  Tested there is a 110 wire and is hot.  any clues what could have happened?  thanks much in advance.

Answer
Bill, You will need to go on top and pull the cover and look at the start capacitors. Check to see if there is 110 power getting to them. Just because you hear the click doesn't mean the power is being sent to the air. You can check from underneath but without knowing which wiring plan they had for this one it will be easier to do it from the top. If power is getting to the top and it is not starting then the capacitors are probably bad. They should put out more than 110 volts and are rated for such on the sides of each. Make sure they have the correct voltage. It really sounds to me like the ceiling assembly is not sending the power up there. I hope this helps, Bill
