RV Repair: Dometic RM 2611 Refrigerator, several different ways, day trip

Question
My 1996 RM 2611 is completely unreliable. Approx 95% of the time, the check light will come up during travel.  Until recently, once ignited on propane and stationary, the unit worked fine.  However, on a recent 4 day trip to 7000' elevation, the RM 2611 check light came on 6 times, while on propane during day and night.  What should I look for?

Answer
Gary, Unfortunately Dometic had troubles with the boards and tried correcting them several different ways. The most common failure they have is the check light failure as I call it. The check light comes on more and more all the time. You should look at the control board on the left rear of the refer and if that is in fact ,as I believe it is, then I would replace it with a Dinosaur Micro-P711. They are pretty easy to install and it comes with instructions. The only thing you may need to do is to make a short ground wire that will be added to the board. These boards in my opinion are the best out today and they come with a 3 year warranty. I hope this helps, Bill
