RV Repair: coleman roof air, electrical problem, winnebago elandan

Question
I just purchased a winnebago elandan with dual roof air units.  The rear unit blows very cold and seems to work fine.  The front seems to come on and blows, but the air never gets cold.  Can these units be recharged or is it possible that I have other problems ?

Thanks
Jack

Answer
Jack, First thing I would do is to make sure the compressor comes on to the unit you have question with. If it does and you have no cold air then I would say it has lost the charge. They can be recharged but these are not like auto air, so if they leaked out they will need to find the leak and repair it vacuum the system and make sure it holds before recharging the unit. Coleman are in my opinion one of the best ones they have out on the market. More times than not it is an electrical problem and not because it lost the charge. Make sure it comes on and let me know what you find and we can go from there. How old is the unit because this will matter as well. Thanks, Bill
