RV Repair: Water Damage on sides, wood framing, tim tim

Question
I have a 1997 Maverick Class C. The sides are starting to separate due to a leaking seal. I was thinking of cutting the fiberglass, replacing the water damaged wood,re attach the fiberglass, use fiberglass repair to fill in the cut line and then have the rv painted. Am I on the right track or is there a better solution to my problem. I have never seen a motor home with the fiberglass sides off. If you have any pics, it would help.
Thank you,
Tim

Answer
Tim, Usually when you pull off the filon siding you will need to replace it because they have it glued to something. Make sure it has wood framing as alot of the ones these days are made of metal of some sorts. Plus you might want to check to see just how much framing is in there first as alot of manufactures are using the glue bond for strength. You said maverick, who makes this one? Let me know and I can help more, Bill
