RV Repair: Atwood Hot Water Heater Electronic GC6AA-9E, hot water heater, column inches

Question
My water heater starts up but continues sparking and then the flame shuts off...What could thie be??

Answer
John, The reason the flame is shutting off is because the board is not sensing the flame. Make sure the electrode is immersed in the flame good when on. You might want to check L.P. pressure at the water heater to make sure there is 11 water column inches, and if both these things are correct and you still have the problem then it is time to replace the board. If that is the trouble I recommend replacing the manufacture board with a Dinosaur igniter board. They have a 3 year warranty and in my opinion one of the best boards on the market. I hope this helps, Bill
