RV Repair: 1975 Winnebago 23ft Indian roof repair, aluminum sheet metal, roof rafters

Question
Dear Dave,
Thanks for your service.
Water damage repair. I see a roof built in plies of a plastic bonded to aluminum sheet metal too layers of styrofoam and plywood and finished ceiling fabric.  These plies are separated and floating free of each other.  It seems they were originally cemented together too form a single solid roof of these various plies.

Currently, I have removed vents, trashed air conditioner, and am allowing the plies to dry after having applied a bleach solution to stop mildew.
I am wondering if I should cement these plies back together somehow.

I have not yet removed mouldings at the seams for inspection and repair.  I like the plastic on aluminum top surface and the foam but the plywood is falling apart.  The roof must flex alot when in transit and I just need help to keep what I have and stop the leaking.  Thankyou.  1975 Winnebago Indian 23ft.

Answer
It's really hard for me to give you a great answer without actually seeing it. But it sounds like you should try to glue everthing back together as well as possible. And if the plywood is falling apart, it needs to be replaced. Just make sure that if the roof rafters are wood, that you inspect them for damage and replace if necessary. That is where you could really run into problems when you walk around on the roof. Glue eventually gives out after many years of alternating moisture and dryness. I would say that if this is the first time you have had to do anything to a 30 year old roof - that is good.
