RV Repair: atwood water heater, pilot light, atwood water heater

How do you light the pilot light on an atwood water heater in a 1975 Safari Airstream? Their is no red button to hold down as the manual states. It may not be the orginal gas regulator. The model # is J81 I think. Thank You, Charles

Charles, Every one that I have ever seen is pretty much explained at the water heater. If there is no red button to hold down and the knobs are blue then you will need to hold the knob all the way over when lighting. If there is no pilot assembly out there then it is lit automatically and there will be a switch inside somewhere. Thanks, Bill
