RV Repair: Furnace blower, dinosaur fan, furnace blower

Question
We have a 2007 Coachmen pull behind camper. The blower will not turn off? My husband disconnected the blower wire. Can you help us?

Answer
Jim & Debbie, I am not sure exactly what kind of furnace you have. On some of the newer Atwood furnaces they are equipped with a fan control board. It will be located on the left side as you look at it from the outside. It sounds to me like Jim has already been out there and has seen what I described. Well that board receives a signal from the T-Stat that completes the circuit. First try to disconnect the board plate by loosening the wing nut. This will allow you to pull the board out. Then you can disconnect the board and take it to a R.V. repair shop where they can test it for you. If it is still under warranty then I would try and take the whole coach in and have it repaired. If not when they test the board and it should be bad because of what you are describing to me sounds like the relay on the board has stuck. Anyhow if it is bad then I would replace it with a Dinosaur "Fan 50 Plus" igniter board. They have a 3 year warranty and are usually a little less money. If for some reason you have a different furnace then let me know and I can go from there. I am only making a guess as to what you might have. Thanks, Bill
