RV Repair: rv frig, electromagnet, electrical signal

my rv frig will not light on gas unless i take a propane lighter and pre heat the burner area than it works fine. The igniter has elec. power to the igniter but does not arc until I pre heat the burner area.  Do you think it would be the igniter or the thernocoupler?  Thanks

Well Walt the thermocouple works by getting hot and sending an electrical signal back to the valve that energizes an electromagnet keeping the valve open. If you have an igniter on the refrigerator when power is put to it it should send a spark to the electrode causing it to create a spark. Does this refrigerator need you to hold down a button while it is lighting? Giving me make and model would really be helpful so I can better try and tell you where to look for the trouble.
