Question
BURNER WILL NOT SHUT OFF. REPLACED ELECTRONIC CONTROL, BOTH THERMOSTATS, IGNITER AND INLINE ITEM ON ONE TERMINAL LOOKS LIKE A DIODE. CHECKED TANK TEMP WITH FLUKE METER READS UP TO 130F WHEN SAFETY VALVE STARTS DRIPPING. IF I REMOVE ONE WIRE FROM STAT BURNER WILL TURN OFF. NOTHING LEFT TO REPLACE. SPENT $230.00 SAME PROBLEM. SCALDING WATER.WHAT TEMP SHOULD THERMOSTAT OPEN. NOT SHOWN ON PART.

The devices that controls the shut down of the ignition board, are the ECO and Thermostat, (the device that looks like a diode is a thermal circuit breaker/safety),their the two sensors with the red and brown wires attached. It sounds like it is not wired correctly. That t-stat should shut off at 140 degrees. The board takes its orders from the t-stat and if it is new, you must have some "crossed wires".
