RV Repair: onan power plant, propane supplier, 100lb propane tank

Question
I recently purchased a 7.5 JB propane Onan Power plant, and am having trouble getting it to run correctly. I have set the points and spark plugs to specks, the timing is correct, and I have good spark through the plugs. I believe that the only item left is the fuel. The unit did not include a regulator when I purchased it, and I was able to get one fron my local propane supplier, and purchased a low pressure reglator from onan. The first regulator is a duel stage regulator. I currently have these regulators in a series, and am trying to adjust the pressure a quarter turn at a time. I am also using a 100lb propane tank whick is nearly full. The engine attempts to start on nearly every time that I turn the starter over, but fails to continue to run after I release the start button. Could you let me know if you think I am doing anything wrong, or should try something different. Thank you for your time

Answer
Hi Matt, Try the Onan regulator by itself. I don't think you are to use two regulators together. I may be wrong though. I am not a Gen. guy. I always remember the propane Gen. is on a separate regulator. I would rebuild the carburetor also. Call Onan and ask them about the regulator set up. Good Luck
