RV Repair: Atwood 6gal. Gas Water heater, bounder rv, gas water heater

Question
I have a 2000 Bounder RV. The heater will run sometime after it has cooled for a long time (8hrs). I checked with a ohm meter across the thermal diode, T- stat & ECO. I found a 10,000 ohm resistance across the ECO when it was closed. Could this cause a low voltage so I would not get any ignition spark? I jumped the brown & red wires at the circit board plug & the gas valve solenoid worked.

Answer
Hi Bud. Yes. It could be that and I have seen that once before. It's rare, but it pops up once and a while. Most water heater problems are the board, but every once in a while the simple cheep part is the problem. I would replace the T stat and E.C.O. while your at it to be safe. Good Luck
