RV Repair: hood cable, hood latch, hood cable

Question
1989 LaSharo Winnebego-  The hood release cable has slack in it and will not release hood latch.  How can we get hood open (or unlatch locking mechanism) to repair hood release cable?

This is usually not an easy thing to do.Try to pull the cable housing side to side while pulling the lever, the more tension you can add to it the more likely the latch is to release.On some coaches you can see where the cable hooks to the mechanism if possible have someone else pulling the release, using a long standard screwdiver you can assist and push it far enough over to release. Sorry I can give you a better answer. I have fought several hood latches and they are not easy.
