RV Repair: Pop Up Camper Roof Lifter Support Fell Inside Wall of Camper, pop up camper, center address

on a 3604 centenial 2004 the left rear roof lifter support pin came out of roof hanger and the lifter fell down inside the wall. It has high walls on this model. There is also a spring inside the channel and is hanging there. I believe I can pull the arm up out of the side wall and reattach pin, but what about the spring. Does it just ride inside the channel or is it attached somehow and is part or the lifting system? Also, can this repair be done at home or am I in for a big expense? Help. Only used the camper 4 times. Andy

The spring actually pushes the lifter arm up from the inside.  If that is the only one that is down, ie: the other corners are up, you have another problem with the lifter system.  If you are not strongly mechanical, it is best to have a qualified service center address this for you.
