RV Repair: 2006 Cougar - water heater, ace true value, hardware supply

Question
My husband is living in our rv full time while working in another city.  The water heater drips from the pop-off valve all the time.  We shut off the water, drained the tank and refilled it.  This helped for a couple days then it started dripping again.  Do we need to replace the valve or is there something else we should try?

Answer
Hi Judy:

This problem can be very annoying, I know. First off, please measure the temperature of the water, taking several reading during the day or evening, etc.  so we can be sure its operating within the safe limits of design. If that is ok next, I would reccomend replacing the relief valve, as they are found to be defective quite often. I know he is on the road traveling, so he should be able to pick one up at any hardware supply store, Lowes, Home depot, or even smaller hardware stores, Ace, true value, etc.

Since you have drained the tank, and put an air cushion on top of water, that source of the problem can be eliminated too.
If you would please let me know what he finds out on the temp. readings.

If I can further assist you, please let me know.
