RV Repair: rv refridgerator, debris fall, volt circuit

Question
The dominic refridgerator lights and runs on the propane but the top freezer gets somewhat cold and the bottom food compartment gets Hot. What should I look for to correct this. The 110 volt system is not working and i did not test the 12 volt circuit.

Answer
There are several things that will have this same effect.  First check to make sure that the roof vent is clear and there is no debris on the top fins of the fridge.

Next, the flu for the propane needs to be checked.  Make sure the fridge is off.  If you remove the sheet metal that encloses the burner assembly on the outside, you will see a tube that is vertical that hangs down directly over the flame.  place the end of a screw driver against the tube and tap on the other end with a hammer.  You will probably see debris fall onto the burner. Clear this off.

Re-start the fridge and let run.  Just keep in mind that it will take 8 to 10 hours for the unit to cool down to operating temperature.
