RV Repair: Hot water tank pilot light, hot water tank, w h company

Question
We had purchased a new hot water tank for our 1989 Vanguard in 2004.  It has been working fine until our last trip out.  We can light the pilot light but when we release the button the pilot light goes out.  It is really easy to light but it won't stay lite.  On our previous trip we went to a lake on a gravel road.  Could we have dirt somewhere and if so where do we look.  Any advise would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you

That is very possible. Use an air nozzle to blow it out good. If you don't have one, a gas station might let you use theirs.
If that doesn't work, find the website of the W/H company and they probably have a troubleshooting section. I would guess that it is a Suburban.
