RV Repair: Cabinet Repair, coleman tent trailer, countertop material

Question
We borrowed a friends Coleman tent trailer and my husband accidentaly fell through the base that the kitchen sink/stove sits on.  We tried to replace it using plywood and covering it with wood grain contact paper but the paper is bubbling and won't stick and it knicks easily.  What would be the best solution to fix this problem before we return the camper?  We would like it to match as closely as possible.  Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Answer
I'm assuming that your friend knows about it, and you just want to make it look as good as new before returning it. Probably the only way to get it exact (or close to it) would be to contact Coleman and see if they have that material available. That would be a longshot, though.
Here is what I would do -
Go to a Lowes or Home Depot (or any lumber yard) and see if they have some scrap formica countertop material that you can buy. It wouldn't match what's in there, but it might even look better. Then just install it the way you did the plywood and you should be all set.  I hope this helps,
Dave
