RV Repair: Waste Tank removal - 1979 Southwind, body tank, waste tank

Question
What is involved in removing tank from the body.
Tank is connected to Shower, Toilet and bath sink.
Two straps hold tank to frame.
Are other connections just slip fit?
After removing straps will empty tank just come down.
Need to remove to fix stress crack at polyethylene tank neck to drain.  Plan on poly welding.

It should come down after you remove the straps. Most tanks that I have worked with are black ABS plastic. The fittings are glued together with ABS cement. If your tank is Poly, then it is probably glued also, but I don't know for sure.  It should be held up by the straps only. I have not worked with poly, so it might just be compression fittings and not glued. I guess you'll find that out when you drop the tank.
