Saturn Repair: AC problems, freon r134a, car overheats

I have a 1995 Saturn sl2 that blows out hot air....I have bought 2 cans of freon with a gage to see if this fixes the problem but need to know how much I should use...also the car overheats when at an idle...any suggestions on cheap ways to check this...Thanks, Angie

Hi Angie

Your sl2 takes 1.5 pounds of freon(r134a)......but you need to make sure you have no leaks...cause if you do your just throwing money away.......
