Saturn Repair: 96 SL2 Does not start. Jumping didnt work., engine oil leak, crank sensor

Question
Hello, Eric.
Could you help me with my 96 SL2 AT, which has 170K on it?

First of all, my car has having problem with engine oil leak and check engine
lamp for several months. I been adding oil before it gets low.

The problem stated yesterday. I was driving with cool AC on Max and parked
it. After 10min or so, I got back in my car and tried to start it (my AC was still
at the position of max cool), but it didn't start and I jumped it and it worked.
After that, I stoped for red light and engine died. I put in park and start the
car immediately and it start. Then, I went back to home.
After several hours, I drove car again and after 15min or so I parked it.
Then, when I got back to the car and tried to start it, it started but it almost
died. So I gave gas and try not to kill the engine and drove home.
After several hours, I went out again with no problem. However, when I tried
to use the car again, it didn't start. I tried to jump it twice, but it didn't work.
It cranks as usual, but it just doesn't start.
My head lights, radio, and AC works.
In addition, I changed spark plug and cable 4 months ago. However, at that
point, I forgot to adjust the gap of plug and after month or two, I adjust the
gap.
I hope this is enough to explain my situation and also hope you can
understand my poor English...
I work as a delivery guy and I need my car as soon as possible.

Thank you very much.

Yuri.

Answer
Hi Yuri

You really don't need to gap the plugs in your saturn.....we never do at work ...already pregapped (ac delco) anyway.....you might want to try this and if this don't work I'll give you another thing to try

First you might want to get a crank sensor......if it goes bad you wont get it started and if it does start, won't stay running.

second....if that don't work you might need an ignition module....and tose aren't cheap, thats why we started with the crank sensor first (cheaper)

hope this helps
