Saturn Repair: 96 saturn SL2, wheel drive cars, rear wheel drive cars

Question
noise inside car ,vibration...more at slow speeds, 3-5 MPH
growling type noise ..loud!  Going at higher speeds 55-65 MPH seems ok and runs smoother,
My Saturn now has 224,000 miles ,runs excellent,27-30 mpg, but like all Saturns ..have to keep an eye on the oil stick  and add when needed. Best car I ever had ..don't owe me a thing...very reliable !

Answer
I had the exact same issue come up on my old Saturn. It is the wheel bearing that is pressed into the steering knuckle. I would take it to a repair shop and have it replaced  because unlike the older rear wheel drive cars, there is far more work involved in replacing this wheel bearing. But that is what fixed it.
