Saturn Repair: Saturn 98 SL2 Power Windows, window regulators, rear windows

Question
The rear windows fail to go up or down and fall down.
The driver front window won't go up or down either.
The only window that works is the front passenger.
What would be the likely cause and how easy is it to repair myself? I've attempted to remove the side door panels in front and back, but haven't had any luck and am reluctant to proceed, fearing I may damage the power lock.

Answer
James,
For the rear windows, you need to replace both of the window regulators.  This is the motor/arm that lifts and lowers the window.  If the driver's window is completely inop (cannot hear sound of the motor running) you probably need to replace the window switch.  There's not much to replacing those regulators, just a little grunting and sweating.  It is easiest to remove the inner door panel to get to the rear regulators, however, it can be done by removing the outter panel as well.  Hope this helps.
