Saturn Repair: 97 saturn SL1 engine removal, saturm, saturn sl1

Question
I have a 97 Saturm SL1, engine seems to have been run out of oil and turns over but no start, any way to revive before removing, or just remove and replace, and what procedure do you recomend to remove engine, I have auto trans and air, thanks for any help

Answer
Dick,
I'd probably say just to R&R that tired engine.  If it was running well before it lost oil, and now it won't start at all, chances are good that it doesn't have any compression left.
I always pull S-Series engines from the top.  I don't pull the trans with it though.  You will need to remove some of the  stuff on the front cover, but it will come out, believe me.
