Saturn Repair: Saturn sc2 acting up, 1995 saturn sc2, short term memory

Question
1995 Saturn SC2, Recently I had my 60,000 mile service which consisted of spark plugs wires tune-up etc... Two months later I started my engine and noticed the RPM gauge bouncing up and down seconds later the service engine light came on until I reached work ten minutes later. After two days of nothing happening car running fine the needle started to bounce again, days later car just shut off after starting happened three or four times, stalled at a traffic light once. Took it to the dealer they did a diagnostic and could not pull up any codes. Car is running fine now. Please advise on what might be the problem.

Answer
David,
I would probably go to the dealer and ask them to test and monitor the fuel pressure.  There is a chance that they will not find anything though.  Ask them to do a "bleed down" test on the fuel pump/regulator.  They should know what it is, if they don't just let me know.  I would start there.  However, if you want to try something yourself, read through some of my posts under Saturn Answers and find one topic that I talked about a bad IAC valve.  There you will find the procedure to "scram" the PCM's short term memory, hopefully to make that bad RPM fluctuation go away.
