Saturn Repair: electrical problems, saturn sl2, exhaust work

Question
Hello,
I recently had some exhaust work done and since have had difficulty starting my car.(96 Saturn SL2 w/65000 miles.  It will turn over, but then die.  I can restart it right away.  But there has been some warning lights that appear intermittently  First the abs light came on, but went out after restart.  The next time the abs and the brake warning lights both appeared, again did not reappear at next start.  Yesterday all of my preset radio stations were erased and the time on my clock lost about an hour.  Any ideas before I take it to the dealer would be greatly appreciated!!!

Answer
Hello,
First, I don't see much of a correlation between exhaust work and intermittent abs/brake MIL's.  However, if one welds metal on a car, one is supposed to remove the battery terminals from the battery.
Second, I would check those pesky battery cable terminals and make sure that they are not corroded, loose or otherwise inoperative.  I think that this will help solve your problem.
If that is not your fix, I would take it into the dealer for further diagnosis.  A current ABS Diagnostic Trouble Code could keep your ABS from functioning properly in the event of a sudden or sliding stop.  Hope this helps.
