Saturn Repair: ION 2004, definate answer, octane gas

Question
Hi Greg. Is it normal for a new ION that when I turn off the ignition I can hear the engine still running?
Thanks in advance,
Richard

Answer
Hi Richard,
I can't help you with anything beyond the 1998 SL2.  Sorry.  But, the typical reason for this is CHEAP, LOW OCTANE GAS!  it is called 'deiseling' and happens even in new cars! Try letting the gas run down pretty low (say 1/4 or 1/8 tank) and then put in about 10 gallons of Premium...not all the time just this one time...to see if it takes care of it...also, at the same time, add one bottle of GAS DRIER (about $1 or less).  If that doesn't do it, just be glad you have two years left on yuor warranty!
Best of Luck!  Sorry i couldn't give you a definate answer.  Let me know how it worked out by leaving feedback comments here at the all experts website for me.
Sincerely,
Greg Moore
