Saturn Repair: Intrument panel wiring, haynes repair manual, fog lamps

Question
Hi Ken,
I bought a '95 Saturn SL coupe this weekend.  It has a few after-market items, (radio, fog lamps, speaker cabinet in trunk).  However, some of the work was pretty shoddy.  The instrument panel does not light up when the lights are turned on.  I would blame this on a poor stereo installation.  Whoever installed it didn't take the time to replace the front panel, and all of the wiring is disheveled.  I own a Haynes repair manual for the car, but it only tells how to remove the instrument panel.  I would consider myself to be reasonably bright around electronic gear, (I can assemble a computer from scratch practically blindfolded).  Can you walk me through the more intimate details of reconnecting the instrument panel's lighting?  The stereo works, and the guages are still operating.  The instrument console and the center console both are dark.  These seem to be the only disconnected areas.  Thanks!
