Saturn Repair: 1990 Toyota Tercel replacing alternator, toyota tercel, plastic molding

I have a 1990 Toyota Tercel, 6-speed carb-engine. The brake and charge lights have been on for the past month or so, and when I brought to an auto shop, they said that I need to replace the alternator. I was thinking of doing it myself. Do you have any input on how to remove the old one and install the new one?   Thanks.

Hi well i think the alt is on the bottom in the back of the engine compartment and i think u have to get the bolts off through the wheel well. so u have to jack it up and take the passanger side tire of and the plastic molding. it been a while since i seen oone of those.hopefully this helps and good luck
