My daughter's boyfriend put power steering fluid in his break fluid reservoir by mistake. Is this a serious problem? If it is, he needs to know how to drain the break lines of fluid and replace it with break fluid. He has a Saturn coupe, maybe 1998 or so.Thank for your suggestions.

Hi yes u do need to flush the system very well the ps fluid wil swell all the rubber in the system has it been in there long?

No, it has been less than 24 hours and the car was only driven less than a mile after the power steering fluid was put into the break reservoir.  We did bleed the system and replaced the break fluid with new.  Is there anything else that needs to be done?

Answer
Hi just make sure all the ps fluid is out maybe even flushing it again .. keep an eye on the master cylinder to see if the new fluid turns black that will mean the seals are deterierating and u may need to change some parts but u should be ok as long as all the fluid it out. good luck
