Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): lawnmower wont start

I have a yard machine 22"cut  model 11A-032A752   1664610  serial number 1D275K81376. I put a new spark plug and cleaned the sponge filter. It started on the first pull. My husband mowed a few weeks later. He made about 2 passes around the yard and it quit and I cannot get it restarted. (I wasn't sure if my husband broke it so that he wouldn't have to mow or what. No, just joking). I am about ready to put this mower to the curb. Any suggestions?

What engine is on the mower?  There will be a model number on the engine.

How old is the gas you are using?  If the gas if from the last mowing season it is probably bad and will not burn in the engine.  Bad gas is the number one reason why most mowers will not run.

Let me know what engine you have.
