Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Addition to oil leaking/floor question

Forgot to include it is a Briggs and Stratton 8hp vertical shaft engine.

Check the oil and see if it is thin, runny, and if it smells like gas.  If so, change the engine oil and re-fill before using.

You should remove the spark plug and turn the engine to remove any oil in the cylinder.

Forgot to mention to check the air filter as well to see if it is soaked with oil.
