Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): troy bilt lawnmower has no spark

self propelled lawnmower just quit while cutting grass. i tried cleaning spark plugs, i have changed air filter, the gas is fresh, and spark plugs only 6 months old. no spark noted as far as i can tell. Don't know what else to do and hope you might be able to help. Thanks

Did you make sure the compliance cable, the cable attached to the stop handle, is not stretched or broken?

Sometimes those cables stretch just a little and will keep the engine from producing spark.

You can use a pair of pliers to pull the cable a little more when you squeeze the lever to start the engine.
