Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Stihl 032av points conversion

I have an 032AV Stihl chainsaw that runs great until it gets warm.  After that it won't start for ~ 6 hours.  It still has the points ignition system.  It was taken to the shop awhile ago, and the dealer told us that it needed a new ignition that was no longer available.  I read about using a NovaII ignition module in place of the points, and tried it.  It ran awesome (I think maybe too fast) for about 1 minute, and now has no spark whatsoever.  I haven't hooked the points back up yet, but I'm hoping I didn't damage the coil.  Do you have any recommendations for how to get this saw running right?  It's a great saw when it is running.

I have used the Nova IIs and had good luck with them.

Have you checked Ebay for a used coil?

Have you check the coil to see if it is shorted or open?  You can use an ohm or multimeter to check the coil for open or shorted condition.
