Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Honda push mower wont back up, rear wheels, gear mechanism

Question
My Honda push mower rear wheels will not rotate when pulled backwards. Forward works with no issues and rear wheels will seldom roll backwards but more times than not they will not move. Last time I cut the lawn I was caught in a rain storm and since then I've had this problem. Machine was purchased in 2007. Never had an issue until now.

Answer
You need to remove the wheels and lube the drive...something is rusted/dirty and binding the drive gear mechanism.

ONLY do one SIDE at a time as some parts may be left and right.  Pay close attention to how the wheel and parts come off as well as the direction of any washers or gears.

WD-40 and a wirebrush will help clean/lube the parts.
