Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): generator fuel valve, hose barb, spring clamp

Question
Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): generator fuel valve, hose barb, spring clamp
valve
hi ben - i have a 3500 watt generator (chinese) that has served faithfully for a number of years, but vibration (apparently) caused the fuel valve/petcock to break in two.  it is off a powerwise model 3500 (part of jiangdong group). the 'family number' is 5JDGS.1961GA.  the valve threads into the fuel tank.  gas flows into the shut-off valve and then 90 degrees into a spout that feeds a rubber fuel line secured by a spring clamp.  i can't find anything on the internet, although i don't exactly know where to look.  a tough job, but can you help?  many thanks jim

Answer
Jim
we have had similar problem just like you have and it is almost impossible to find a replacement. the best you can do is find a straight nipple with threads on one end and a hose barb on the other then run a 1-2 inch fuel line to a new shut off the barb type and hook up the other end to the existing fuel line. make sure the fuel niple fits good in the tank and in the hose. You can go to a hardware store or a small engine repair shop for the parts.
