Auto Insurance Claims: Fraudulent Insurance Claim, fraudulent insurance claim, insurance company


Question
I went to get a quote on auto insurance and found that a family member's accident is on my record.  How do I resolve this?  Can I get it taken off of my record?  Thanks.

Hi Mike,

This is an unusual situation so it is hard for me to know what to tell you.

You should call the insurance company to see if they can provide details including who was involved, the date of the accident, etc. You wil then need to confront the family member to see what info they have on the situation. If the famaily member has the same last name and happens to be insured with the same company, correcting this may be as simple as you just getting the company to correct the record. Beyond that I just not sure what to tell you.
