Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): help...kohler 17.5 engine, john deere mower, head gasket

My john deere mower has a kohler 17.5 engine that keeps getting fuel in the oil & smokes really bad.i removed the head & found no obvious damage to head gasket,any help would be extremely appreciated,thank you for your time....

Leaking carb inlet needle seat.  Either remove, clean and rebuild the carb or install an inline fuel shut-off valve and turn the fuel OFF when you are not using the mower.

Drain, refill the oil.  I would do this a couple of times to make sure to get the old oil/gas out of the engine.
