Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): lawn mower, new tune, spark plugs

My Craftsman ride on lawnmower will not start in the cold. Every time I try to turn it over after 5 min, the battery goes dead. Choke is up, oil in it, new gas, new tune up kit except the plugs, and it still will not start. Weather outside is under 30*. Why is it not starting? I need to plow my driveway, LOL.

Are you still using SAE-30W oil?  If so, I would change the oil to a lighter viscosity for winter. How old is the mower and battery?  Have you always used the same oil for summer and winter?  What engine do you have?

I would also replace the spark plugs as well.
