Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): 15.5 horse kohler 42 mower, volt battery, carburator

mower starts and runs for 10-12 minutes then shuts down as if it has no gas. i took the carburator apart and looked good...i see a rubber piston at the bottom of the bowl and wonder if this part was shutting down after the engine would heat up?

Does the engine start right back up?  The anti-afterfire solenoid could be shutting off fuel but you can check the operation of the solenoid with a 9 volt battery.

If you have two wires on the carb solenoid just use some clip leads and a 9 volt battery to check it.

Have you loosened the fuel gap and tried running the mower?

Let me know if it starts right back up after it stalls.
