Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): B & S wont start, plug hole, fuel tank

Question
QUESTION: Eric,

I  finally  got my mower back from my friend.  I did all the things you said.  I put in a new plug.  I checked the fuel by putting a screwdriver in the tank and lighting the screwdriver.  I already cleaned out the fuel tank and carburetor and air filter.  I did not see how to spray gas into the spark plug hole so I put the end of the plug into gas and then put the plug in.  I can see gas squirt into the carb when I press the primer bulb.  What should I do next?

Thanks
GB

ANSWER: If you are sure the gas, spark, and spark plug are good then you may have a compression or intake problem.  Both intake and compression problems are not that common.

Can you send me the engine model number again so I can look up which model you have?

Answer
The link below should be your carb.

Are the diaphragm and gasket new?  Is the primer bulb leaking.  Did you remove and clean the carburetor?  These carbs can be very sensitive and need to be cleaned with compressed air from an air compressor and spray can carb cleaner.

Here is a link I found on You Tube.
