Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Oil Dipstick/filler tube, craftsman model, briggs stratton

Question
I have a Craftsman model 917.377661 walk behind lawn mower with a Briggs&Stratton model 1901VH 6.5hp engine. The dipstick cap got caught on some low branches, came out and was destroyed by the blade. I was able to shut it down quick enough so there was no damage to the engine as oil splattered out the tube and all over. The metal dipstick was no where to be found so I assume that it is in the engine. I put a magnet on a telescoping tube down the filler tube to retrieve the dipstick and it somehow came loose, broke off and is in the engine. I can see it but can't pull it out, it's hung up on something. I need to pull the dipstick/filler tube off to get to the magnet and telescoping tube that it is attached to. How do I remove/re-install the filler tube? Thank you.

Pull the pull starter off and all related items when you see the dip stick housing there is  small screw that holds down the dip stick tube. When you remove the screw pull the whole dip stick tube out you should be able to see the broken parts.I would drain the oil out first this way you can see it better.
