Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): lawn mower, float bowl, lawn mower

I bought sears lawn mower ways back. It has a tecumseh 143.006700 motor. it will start but dies out, only when I hit the prime button will it stay on. I have to keep on pushing the prime button for it to stay on, what do you think is wrong?

Typical dirty carb description.  You can try draining the carburetor fuel by remove the float bowl nut on the bottom of the carb.  Make sure the float bowl nut hole(s) is clean.
