Yesterday I had attempted to start my weed wacker, but the pull cord broke.  I am inquiring on how to replacing the pull cord on a mcculloch weed wacker 2816

If your not a DIY person then take it to a shop, or remove pull cord cover, and pull out old cord, turn the pully" that the cord was on to wind up the spring, thread new cord into hole in pully tie a knot in end let it rewind cord back in. the exact procedure depends on the engine, but you need to open up the recoil unit (while wearing eye and face protection) and, without letting the spring and spool fly out, wind the spring backwards, tie a new rope to the spool, and let the spring unwind, winding up the rope
