Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Ignition , electric fuel pump, kawasaki mule

Question
Sir-

I own a 2007 Kawasaki Mule TransDiesel with 571 hours.. Lately, when I turn the ignition key to off, the engine remains running for approximately 2-3 seconds before shutting down. It does not "diesel"..excuse the pun...it continues to run at normal idle speed for the 2-3 seconds before shutting down.
I do not know if your area of expertise extends to small diesels..I am seeking any input available.

Thank You in advance
Regards
Maureen

Answer
I don't have much experience with Kawasaki Mule diesel but you can check to see if there is an electric fuel pump which the key switch is supposed turn off when you stop the engine.

Have you checked the online UTV sites to see if anyone is experiencing the same problem.
