Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Briggs 6HP Lawn Mower Engine, carburetor problems, hp engine

Question
I have worked to combine 2 motors in hopes of getting it to run.  I can get the motor to start really well when spraying gas into the air intake.  Runs as long as I keep spraying.  Seems to be a problem with suction getting gas from carb into the engine.  Primer bulb does not really work either.  When spraying the gas it really seems to run well so hopeful that this problem if solved will result in good running motor.

Sounds like you have carburetor problems, I would suggest removing the carburetor and cleaning and rebuilding it something is stopping the fuel from entering the carburetor from the ports. The reason it runs when you spray it into the intake is you are directly supplying fuel into the engine. The 6 hp engine has a very simple carburetor sometimes it is just cheaper to buy a new one.We carry them in our stock if you need one.
