Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Carburator adjustments, adjustment screws, jet size

Question
I have a 1993 Craftsman rider with a cv14s Kohler engine. hasn't been run for two years so I rebuilt the carb. (wouldn't stay running) got carb done and now will run but it fuel surges. can get it to come out of it but needs to be adjusted right. My question is " how can I adjust the carb when there are no adjustment screws (high idle, fuel/air)?

Answer
There is not a lot you can to with not adjustment screws.  If the main high speed jet is brass you can use solder to fill the jet and then re-drill.  However, you must measure the orginal jet size first with some hole measuring tool and you have to get some very small carburetor drill bits to re-drill.

I'm betting something is still clogged in the carb.  Did you blow compressed air through all the carburetor orfices?
