Motorcycle Repair: 1985 honda xl350r wont run, honda xl350r, compression check

Question
while riding the engine quit like turning off a light switch. checked fuses , fuel pump to carb. spark to plug that i can tell. nothing. i put raw gas into the cylinder and replaced the plug and tried to start it but the compression just pushed the raw gas out the exhaust pipe.

Answer
Robert,

-have you checked the run/stop switch?
-Make sure you have over 130 psi compression.
-Check the spark, try a new plug.
If you have a good spark I would
check the carb float needle/valve for
sticking.
-The raw gas you added may have been too much
and flooded the engine.
-You need 3 things to run; compression, fuel and spark
at the right time.
Try to narrow it down by checking each carefully.
