Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): ryobi cs26 weedeater, ryobi gas trimmer, carburetor problems

I have a Ryobi Gas trimmer CS26 RY26500B weedeater.. my weedeater starts then about 5 minutes later dies off.. I also have a hard time start it on.. But when it is on then dies off.. i have no problem starting back on when its hot.. i need help why does it die off on me?

You have carburetor problems,with all this new gas that is being used the carburetors have a tendency to get gummed up.Make sure you also check to make sure you are using the correct gas/oil mix ratio assuming this is a 2 cycle engine.
Too much oil in the mixture may make an engine difficult or almost impossible to crank.
Determine what fuel ratio your equipment requires. There are three common gasoline to oil mix ratios: 32-to-1, 40-to-1 and 50-to-1. Read your owner's manual to determine the proper ratio for your appliance.


Also you will need to check the fuel lines for cracks/breaks.If that doesn't work.Then you will need to disassemble the carburetor and spray with carb.cleaner. Make sure the small screen in the carb. is free of debris.
