Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): startering, wisconsin engine, sensor unit

Question
Hi, My question is, I have a generator, with a Wisconsin engine, ey35....the last time i used it it started just fine, now it dose not start. my feeling is the coil is bad, but don't know how to test. I get a small voltage coming from the coil in the flywheel to the coil. I disconnected the oil sensor unit,(or is this thing required in the cir. to work)  in case that was causing the problem, can you help me try and figure this out. No spark what-so -ever. magnet seems to be strong. Is there a used parts net site you can direct me in case its the coil, this coils is about 245.00 and its an old unit, so i don't really want to spend a lot on it if i don't have to.

If you get me the model # and any other numbers on the generator I can look up the parts. The oil sensor can be disconnected and will have no effect,if you can test the spark off the plug wire disconnect the kill wire from the switch so it is not grounded this is what kills the coil from firing. See if you can see any kind of spark make sure you remove the spark plug so the flywheel can spin easy.To test the coil insert the spark plug and lay it against the engine head to see if you get any spark while pulling the recoil,or go buy a spark plug tester they are not that expensive and are a good tool to have in your tool box.
